Breast feeding common problems
Sore Nipples is a common problem
for the first week of breast feeding. However, it should not
last more than a few days and it can be caused by a poor
latch on.
Thrush is another breast feeding problem usually caused by using
antibiotics during or after birth Thrush is usually easily
treatable.
Blisters, cracking and pain is not normal so see
your doctor any of these problems.
Another breast feeding common problem is a plugged duct. This
causes tenderness and swelling. A milk duct can become blocked
by a mass of thickened milk. One needs to change
your baby's position when breast feeding and be regular in
breast feeding and avoid sleeping on your stomach. It is
important to seek medical help if you have this problem as it
can cause complications.
Another common breast feeding problems is mastitis which is
is an inflammation of the breast usually caused by infection.
One breast can be very tender with red areas, Headache and fever
and flue slymtpoms are common.
